Family Health Month

Family Health Month kicked off this week! How do you keep your family healthy? We at PVB like to eat right, exercise and have fun doing it. Here are a few tips to keep yourself healthy during the holiday season:

  1. Wash your hands often to avoid illnesses like the common cold or flu.
  2. Don’t skip meals. Even though it sounds like a good idea, overeating can result from starving yourself and skipping meals.
  3. Give yourself a break from the gym. If you can’t make it to the gym during the holidays, find creative ways to stay fit like hiking with your family, playing in the backyard with your children, or speed walking while Christmas shopping!
  4. Drink responsibly. Drinking plenty of water can avoid bloating and not drinking alcohol after a certain time of night can prevent a disruptive night’s sleep.
  5. Don’t deprive yourself of sleep, and don’t feel guilty for catching up on sleep over the weekend either. Staying up late can release certain hormones that prompt your appetite and only increase weight gain.
